Michelle’s unique facilitation style was foundational to her roles in support organisation and successful social enterprises in the Hawkesbury.
Michelle is an experienced facilitator. Her work is influenced by the ‘Thinking Environment’, combined with other approaches, to foster a reflective, supportive atmosphere conducive to collaborative problem-solving. Michelle’s unique facilitation style was foundational to her roles as Manager of Support Groups for The Network, a support organisation for individuals bereaved by suicide, and in managing two successful social enterprises in the Hawkesbury. HOMEOPATHY IN THE HOME
Do you know that there are safe, natural and effective ways to treat common acute ailments at home? This course is 3 hours a week for 4 consecutive weeks. It covers basic homeopathic principles, concepts of health and disease, how to prescribe homeopathy safely at home and 16 very useful homeopathic medicines.
If you would like to know more about the philosophy of homeopathy to support your treatment or would like to know how to prescribe homeopathy safely for acute ailments, this course is ideal.
Michelle wrote this course as a teaching resource for homeopaths, on behalf of the Australian Homoeopathic Association. It has been sold internationally for the past fifteen years and is the course she continues to teach every year.
It is my aim to empower people with the skills to prescribe homeopathy safely at home for minor ailments and first aid situations. Michelle
“I have found the course invaluable in helping with acute complaints in my home. I really do believe in the power of homeopathy, but that aside, I still am surprised and baffled at HOW it works!”

“The homeopathy first aid course which Michelle conducted was informative and clearly presented. I felt confident that I could safely use what I had learnt to treat a variety of common ailments. There was sufficient time between classes to absorb the information and the opportunity to ask questionsand take part in discussions was invaluable.”

Conversations in the home
Clinical experience, education in family systems therapy and raising four children has highlighted the importance of communications for connected and happy families. With this in mind, Michelle was recently inspired by a client to facilitate workshops for families. She shares the story below:
A client had been speaking about the challenges with parenting teenagers and feeling frustrated by the amount of nagging required to get her kids to attend their basic daily chores. She felt overwhelmed by her own domestic load and unsupported by the lack of help. This was leading to a communication style that was culminating in an antagonistic downward spiral.
During one of our consultations, I incorporated some practices of my Conversations in the Home course. Part of this approach was to just ‘get out of the way’, and “to listen so well and so carefully to give attention so respectfully that (people) can think for themselves in a new way” (Passmore & Sinclair, 2020, p. 122), which is exactly what she did.
By the end of the session, the client had come to her own insightful conclusions. She realised that she was spending so much time trying to control the home environment, that she hadn’t given her children or husband the space to take responsibility and autonomy for themselves. She also observed that because of the associated tension and overwhelm, there was little time for the family to listen to each other. She was worried where this negative spiral would end.
Because the client had had an immersive experience of high-quality attention in the session, she understood first-hand, the power of being heard and being able to think for herself. She decided to try a few of the practices at home and reported back at the next session that she was astounded by the impact.
Through making what seemed like a few small changes, she had found a way to transform communications in the home.
At the end of the session, the client asked Michelle if she would consider running a training course for families, which sparked the inspiration for the workshops.
“I felt very listened to in a deep way and learned more about how to listen.”
“I noticed the difference in how I felt when others gave me their advice as opposed to just listening and encouraging me to think for myself – exciting and empowering!”
“Now that I realise the valuable effect it has on my own thinking and that of others I am more conscious of allowing the space for others to speak without interruption.”
Thank you so much for this gift of awareness Michelle.”
